How do I start a migratory tale to say the least,
where I come from, my origins and misfortunes,
to be seen and being questioned as such as an anonymous person,
to tell you that I come from a developing country that makes progress
due to the determination of its people, of their vigour in the fields,
to tell you also about the potential of our rivers and lakes, of our coffe
smooth and aromatic, our flora and our fauna, from the richness of our miths, oh sierra Nevada!,
from the late breeze that runs throughout our valleys.
How do I start?
how do I start this story when all my plans are in doubt?
how do I start if while I become an inmigrant I die of rage?
how do I start if my faces and traces were left behind?
how do I start when instead of freedom I find confusion?
how do I start my migratory tale when I can’t find a horizon?
Rostros y rastros

- Fine artist (photographer), writer, and dreamer. My Work. Since the early 1990’s, my work has involved the creation of conceptually based, socio-political photographic images that deal with memories of the past: images that have been part of my childhood and my adult experience. My work also addresses Diaspora, displacement, identity, gender and, most importantly, the underlying threads of violence and danger that appear to underpin our society. In portraiture work, my focus is to capture the real movements of the individual. In composing and taking a portrait, I am not only aiming to depict what the person looks like, but also to represent that which is a true reflection of who they are.
